Brighouse Bay DG6 4TU / Cream O Galloway DG7 2DR
Directions. Make your way onto the A75 and travel East towards Castle Douglas. Travel for about 18 miles and turn right onto the A755 towards Kirkcudbright. After approximately 4 miles Brighouse Bay Holiday Park is signposted to the right, follow the signs and they will take you all the way to the bay, which is next to the Holiday Park.
I am not saying that you should visit this bay alone but if you are visiting Kirkcudbright, then it is a fabulous place to visit and let the dogs have a run around. It is a beautiful large beach and beautiful woods at the side of it, we spend a fabulous 1½hrs here relaxing on our way back from Kirkcudbright. If you are interested in aero planes, pop onto the camp site next door, they have one on site?
Cream O Galloway
And on the way there or back, you could visit the Cream o Galloway and taste the fantastic ice cream and cheese. They also do a fantastic tour and you can see where the cheese is made, well worth a visit, I loved the tour. It is a VERY child friendly place, so if you prefer, you may wish to go when schools are not on holiday. They also have dog walks on site. Here is the dog walk info from their website which they said I can copy. This is well signposted from the A75
Well behaved dogs are most welcome on our green and purple nature trails, and we've also created an enclosed dog walk in a seven-acre woodland so that your dog can run free.
This 0.75-mile circular walk takes you over rough ground through habitats of young and mature trees with lots of wildlife.
We ask you not to take dogs into the adventure playground or the tearoom (apart from assistance dogs), but you are very welcome to sit with your dog at the sheltered picnic area at the front of the Visitor Centre.
Dogs are not allowed to join the tours
